Stealth Valve & Controls
General: The valve body shall be A-36 Carbon Steel Rilsan or Nylon II coated internally and externally. The body shall be 1600m.m. face to face and incorporate a puddle flange suitable for through wall installation. The valve body shall be a minimum 1350-mm square inlet by 1350-mm diameter plain end. All moving components shall be field replaceable without removal of the valve body. The actuator shall be mounted to a pedestal and electrically actuated (575/3/60) and sized with a safety factor of two times the thrust requirement of the valve. The valve body shall incorporate vertical and horizontal levels to insure correct installation. The valve shall be Non-rising stem design.
Body: A-36 Carbon Steel Rilsan/Nylon II coated. Flanged rectangular by plain end connection. The body shall be free of internal wall and lower body cavities. The body shall incorporate self-adjusting rollers and scrapers on the discharge side of the body. The body shall incorporate non-corrosive, non-metallic wear guides that are field replaceable without removal of the valve body. The body shall incorporate lifting lugs for installation. The body dimension shall be designed to accommodate the maximum height of the chamber while maintaining P1 Valve flow areas are equal to the capacity of P2 at the connection.
Disc: 304 stainless steel and designed to prevent deflection at the maximum head pressure. The disc shall be field replaceable without removal of the body. The disc shall incorporate a locking device for the open position.
Shaft: The shaft shall be 304 stainless steel and designed to for two times the maximum thrust of the valve with disassembly couplings at the valve and pedestal. The shaft couplings shall be designed to accommodate vertical misalignment up to 5 degrees over a 3 meter span. The shaft shall be NRS.
Bearings: All bearings shall be field replaceable without removal of the valve and suitable for continuous submerged service in a hostile corrosive environment. The bearings shall be pre-loaded and self-adjusting.
Disc Guides: Disc guides shall be a minimum of 20-mm thick, field replaceable without removal of the valve. All guides shall be three sided and mounted with recessed stainless steel hardware.
Valve Pedestal: Carbon steel NSF approved epoxy coated indicating and designed for direct mount electric actuator. The pedestal shall incorporate a vertical guide in the lower plate. The pedestal mounting plate shall incorporate a subplate incorporating a bottom seal ring and internal o-ring seal for the valve shaft (NRS). The upper mounting flange of the pedestal will incorporate a gasket and body will incorporate a .375” tapped and plugged hole for future monitoring requirements.
Valve Extension: The valve extension shall be 304 stainless steel and incorporate two assembly couplings designed for vertical misalignment for 5 degrees over a 3 meter span.
Actuation:All actuators shall be sized and mounted by the valve manufacture. The actuator shall be Nema 9/12 575/3/60 CSA approved, IP 68 capable and incorporate a local remote station and declutcable manual override. An additional local remote box will be supplied with keyed access. The actuator shall be designed for intermittent submerged service. The speed and RPM will be adjustable. Pulsing motors will not be accepted. The actuator shall be supplied mounted and tested by the valve manufacture.
The valve and pedestal shall be manufactured in Canada by Stealth Valve & Controls Ltd. Contact Ken Palanica 905-405-1149 Fax 905-405-0732. Submittal drawings not matching the file drawings will be rejected.
